i'm joining tara's what i wore to work link-up today. while i'm often in suits or dresses at the office, it is nice to be able to mix things up and deviate from the typical business wear. this past winter, i've noticed my work outfits incorporated one of my favourite prints a lot. plaid and tartan, i can't quit you. this circle skirt is also a fun alternative to the pencil skirt. it is quite versatile but the only thing i don't like about this particular one is that it wasn't fully lined. i have to wear a slip or risk it clinging in an unsightly way. while it's not really the end of the world, in the winters with all the layers i have to wear, it is one more thing i have to pile on and after a while you just start feeling like the pillsbury doughboy. it wasn't a deal-breaker by any means, but one of those little details that you wish the designer could have paid more attention to.
outfit - blazer: banana republic corduroy blazer, old, similar on sale here; blouse: ralph lauren, old, similar here; blythe wool skirt, marc by marc jacobs, similar here, here; boots: stuart weitzman mezzamezza boots, here (on sale here use code ADD20 for and additional 20% off) for reference, i went down half a size in these boots. i'm a solid US7.5/38 and these are 7s; bracelet: thanks to glamour me jewels
