sparkles

jenny and skylette inspired me to take the plunge and order an exquisitely impractical belt. when one thinks of belts, they are equated to be the useful pieces in our wardrobes. necklaces and bracelets can adorn, but they don't do anything functional except sparkle. this beautiful crystallized citrine belt from anthropologie won't keep my pants up but boy, is it ever beautiful. i showed it to my husband who thought i should get it if i liked it so much adding, "why does it have to be practical anyway?" well, you don't have to tell me twice! boys think so differently, don't they?

outfit - blouse: j. crew, old; belt: anthropologie, here; skirt: j. crew double serge no. 2 pencil skirt, old,  similar here; shoes, similar here, here: chanel, old; necklace: mexx, a gift from my friend S

  5. Love the unexpected bling on the belt! It totally reminds me of the embellished belts and sashes on bridal gowns. Etsy has some TOTALLY DIVINE sash/belts - wonder if they'd do them in coloured stones?!
