time flies

i blinked and my baby boy is 10 years old today! i can't help but remember how my husband and i were both elated and terrified when we found out. it was a mix of screaming/crying with joy and a realization that we would now be responsible for another human being. we had been married a bit over a year and i was just starting at work - newbie rookies in every way. we had no idea what we were doing (and still don't). i read every book i could get my hands on to get ready and plenty of people were offering up advice. i have explained to my kids that parents don't know it all, but that everything we learned and try to teach them have been through our life experiences. i then told him that being mom to them has been my best life experience ever and one day they'll understand what i am rambling on about.

 

i posted this picture on instagram this morning, as we were taking pictures. we are both barefoot here, and boy 1.0 will be towering over me in no time. my husband said though, at 5 ft 3, he doesn't have far to go. ha.
