simply

before i discovered the universe of colours and print, i actually primarily stuck to black, gray, white and navy. prints were rare until i met ms. I who changed all that. i wore this to work, but for a weekend look, i would switch out the dress pants to cropped leggings and flats, à la audrey hepburn. the sparkles in the outfit are from my necklaces, stacked little presents from my girls I and K, and my colleagues at work, who are also dear friends. i recently pinned a quote that said "friends are family you choose" and that couldn't be more true.

i'm also really excited that one of my favourite bloggers Jana at chic sicily asked me to share in her "what's in my bag" series where you get to see all of the stuff i cram put into my bag. check out her fabulous style too!

outfit - sweater: vince v-neck sweater in heather carbon, here in dark green, and navy here; pants: j. crew, old, similar here; shoes: stuart weitzman capsize pumps on sale here, similar here; necklaces: shoe charm,  gift from K, friendship pearl, gift from I, and elsa peretti letter pendant, gift from colleagues, from tiffany, here, similar here, here; bracelet: hermes baby pavane, old.

  1. I love it Phiphi! Simple is the best sometimes an d I have the same fashion story as you but now I find myself gravitating back to simpler palette. This kind of outfit draws attention to the wearer rather than clothes. I am sure it looks even better IRL with your face 'in the picture' :)

  3. I try to incorporate as much color as I can into my wardrobe, but fewer things are classier and more sophisticated than all black. You look lovely.

  5. I love wearing layers of monochrome from time to time. I feel like it makes you look taller, draws the eye down in a flattering way, and just looks elegant when set off with the right accessories. I love your look!

  9. I love your necklace layering. I used to wear my necklaces like that all of the time, but I stopped. I have a diamond pendant necklace, black friendship pearl, and k Elsa Peretti pendant that I used to always wear together. You're my inspiration to get back to it!
