i went to the mall yesterday during my sons' classes to get some shower gel (the boys love philosophy's vanilla cake shampoo and shower gel and if it gets little boys to bathe willingly, i will provide it to them.). i swung into the Gap because i was curious about the blue floral skinny skimmer jeans (here). online, there is a promo (use code GAPDEAL in the US and GAPDEALCA in canada for 30% off your purchase - ends 01/21). here's a quick sizing review in case you wanted to take advantage of the promo.
below is the stock picture from the website. because these are "skimmers" and are cropped on the tall model, i figured for petites, it would be ankle length. it absolutely was. as you can see it hits me right at the ankles (i'm 5'3). i tried both the 0 and the 2, and my "regular" 0 gap/j. crew bottom size fit best. while the waist was a bit more forgiving in the 2, it was too saggy on the rear and at the knees. the picture above is the 0, and it seemed more streamlined. the colours in real life are not as bright as depicted on the site.
i ended up with a pair of the metallic star legging jean (here) and went up a size to a 2 given the more fitted nature of the jeans. i'm not sure i will keep them, even though i scored them for 28$ with the extra 40% off sale in-store. i am thinking that i am too old to have metallic stars on my pants.

$28 is a good deal, but if you don't think you're gonna get much wear out of it, then perhaps it's a return. I actually ended up returning the printed pants that I bought from Gap. Not so much the print but the fit and I got them for $17! I'm trying to shop without sales goggles! ;)

thank you W! sales goggles were definitely a factor. this raises the return-potential status markedly.
DeleteEverything sags on my rear, I have such a flat bottom!
ReplyDeletei do too and then we did P90x (the legs and back disc. ow.)
DeleteVery cute! I walked pass the Gap this weekend and KNEW I'd probably be regretting later on :P
ReplyDeletelol! i do that often too - banana republic is another place where i regret not stopping in enough.
Deletecute pants! Don't think the metallic star leggings have an "age-limit". From the website, the stars seem quite subtle.
ReplyDeletethey are quite subtle in the size of the stars.. i am second-guessing the shiny stars which is a bit ridiculous since i wear sequins! *head-scratcher* lol. :)
DeleteYou have the nicest legs :) those skinny print jeans look great on you!
ReplyDeletethank you Olyvia - that is so sweet of you to say!
DeleteI need those jeans!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou do! you do!! i hope you get them!
DeleteI have these in regular cut so thanks for the review on the skimmers! The floral pattern is great and I kinda like the metallic star ones too!
