in december, i bought my first hermes shawl, the spectacular Ex Libris En Kimonos. it was both exhilarating and terrifying. for me, something this significant is planned over a period of time. without fail, big purchases involve my girls I and K first who help me reason these things out and, of course, my husband! this time, i also spoke with my friends C and M, who were also involved in getting this to me. without them, this beautiful piece wouldn't be here right now and i am so grateful they took such good care of me. with this many people involved, it's kind of like shopping by committee.
seeing it on katherine in the colourway i liked confirmed i had picked the right colour. some may think that i can't make a decision or i involve too many people, but this was one of my bigger purchases, and i think long and hard before i buy anything. talking it out with people i trust helps me in the long run.
outfit - blazer: banana republic, old, similar here; turtleneck: mexx, old; skirt: h & m, old, similar here, gorgeous colourway here; shoes: stuart weitzman, old; shawl: hermes.

Yay the ex libris en Kimono! That scarf is totally on my list. Where did you get your scarf?

LOL I do the exact same thing with big ticket items! I was consulting my "Committee Leader" on my tory burch boots, and my roommate gave great input. It's really helpful having people to consult on these things :)
