i hope you all had a great weekend! i am battling a cold, which is just so à propos because when things start to slow down just a bit after a long hectic haul at the office, i instantly get sick. what is with that? in any event, you won't hear much complaining here but the cough is really bothering me.
last week, i did a post with variations of pinstripes for work, and talked about doing a series of past outfits i've worn here on the blog with different themes. today's post is dresses for day to night. i think this will be come a regular series, as i found it really useful to me to see what i've bought, what is in my closet, and the silhouettes/colours i already own. in going through previous posts (click on the links to go to the full past post), it concretizes for me how reliable a good dress can be. appropriate from day to night, a dress doesn't require much in terms of styling, but makes anyone look polished instantly. they don't have to be expensive or designer either, because the right cut and material will go a long way. in terms of what i look for when i buy dresses, it is important that they be versatile to go from day to night - comfortable at a desk all day, and holds up to go to an after work event.

You have the best dresses. You are so right as well - the Madewell dress still looks chic, though in a different way from pricier options like the DVF dress.
