PFC #19 - trend benders

this is petite fashion challenge #19 hosted by the lovely pandaphilia (see the list of challenge participants here). our challenge is called "trend benders" where we have to take our favourite summer or fall 2012 trend and make it work for us - bend the trend to synch it with our personal style. the fall 2012 trend i'm trying and making my own? leather. it is edgy but i think can also be very feminine. this is pushing my personal style, actually. jury's still out! the other is mixing patterns, which i think looks good if done moderately.

and finally, a reminder that the glamour me jewels bracelet giveaway closes this friday. go to this post for more information! (edit: in my travel jet lag haze, i totally forgot to link up to my lovely amy and melissa's who what where: transition to fall outfits - go here for a list of the participants) i had this outfit in mind for it.

what trends are you going to try this fall?

outfit - colourblock sweater: gap, here; faux leather skirt: twik at simons, here; shoes: j crew valentina, old

  4. I think my favourite look HAS to be your faux leather skirt. I'm still looking for one myself (or (faux) leather pants - can't decide which).

  14. You found the LOFT striped trench?! YAY!

Leather is a hard one for me too, but I think a black leather skirt is the perfect intro to an edgier outfit. I like how you kept it casual but still put-together at the same time. I'm thinking of perhaps trying faux-leather skinnies this fall... my mind hasn't decided if I'm daring enough to take the plunge yet.

    1. I did! It was cancelled then they found another in a store. I was so happy to get it. I've been wearing it forever! I don't think I'm quite brave enough for leather skinnies but you have a beautiful figure and would look stunning! Xox
