it's another instagram week (except this is a belated one). it seems there is a definite theme of friendship and fuschia that i documented. it's been a long tough haul at work with a massive project i'm working on. i'm sorry i haven't been able to respond to everyone's comments yet, but once the dust settles, i promise that i will. i'd love to hear from you all to let me know how was your week!
1. one of my best friends, K sent me a little gift out of the blue with just a little note "for the P" in it. it was so so cute and then so meaningful when she said that she has an identical one. that makes this little adorable charm that much more special to me.
2. my colleagues and i have been pulling long crazy hours at work and on one of our dinner runs, two of them brought an amazing cupcake for me ( i am a bit bizarre, that i don't eat icing (or very little). i have a girlfriend who only eats icing!) another picked up this chanel le vernis nail polish (suspicious is a deep, dark fuchsia) which i had set aside but had no time to get. they were such sweet and thoughtful gestures which reminded me just how much i appreciate them.
3. wore my j crew raindrop lace tee to work with a pair of black dress pants. i never used to be a pink kind of girl, but now it's everywhere in my closet. this is one of my favourite tops because it is nicely cut, has a great colour and it is lace, of course!
4. as you know, i'm a big fan of sew petite gal, and her DIY creations. she made a gorgeous polka dot skirt for me (wore it here), and then she talked chevron. well that was a total no brainer! i was so surprised and touched to see she included a bracelet she had made too. love both and i can't wait to wear the skirt!
5. you know this photo-bomber's face well. i swear when we go outside to take pictures, the dogs are now always right at our feet. i'm sitting at the computer here writing a blog post, and our little diva paid me a visit. she really cracks me up. doesn't this look just say "hiiiii! whatcha doin'?"
6. we ended the work week last week with a team lunch. everyone got to relax for a little while and chat and catch up. i spend a lot of time and long hours with my group, so it's a blessing we all get along so well. and that we all love to eat. a lot! and we laugh together a lot, which is super important.
7. in my quest for boots that fit my calves, last week i picked up 2 pairs. the stuart weitzman mezzamezza boot (here) which is a knee high version of the 50/50 boots. i got this length because it is more work appropriate than an over the knee boot. i can push fashion boundaries here but an OTK boot would not be a good thing. i got the at the gift card event at holt renfrew a few weekends ago but i had to exchange them for a half size smaller than my US size. i still have to use up the gift card i got from buying the boots. wonder what i should get? for kicking around on weekends, i picked these distressed biker boots from zara.
8. i was looking for a work tote and the prada saffiano luxe tote has always been on my radar. jean at extra petite has a gorgeous one in caramel. over the summer, i tried out different sizes and colours. i narrowed it down to the medium in violet but i was never able to take the plunge. my sister and i were set to get matching coach legacy duffle bags in carnelian (see it here), but a good sale distracted us. i bought the tory burch robinson east west tote. it is a stunning fuschia pebbled leather with gold hardware (see it here in other colours). my sister got a kate spade cross body. the robinson is a soft leather and therefore not structured like the prada. however, it has a lot of room. it does not zip closed but there is a middle compartment that does zip, and can can hold an ipad. i also had a number of documents with me and they fit in there comfortably.

Love your new bag - it's so pretty! I'm going to check out the j.crew lace top - I'm addicted to all things lace.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ella! This top is old, but there are some great lace tops online now. It is such a great detail.
DeleteI love all the new pink purchases! You are so lucky to be surrounded with good coworkers and friends!
ReplyDeleteAnyone that brings me a cupcake and some Chanel polish definitely makes me feel lucky!

It was a long day too and I was running out of steam. It totally energized me! Or maybe that was the sugar rush! Lol. I thanked them profusely and the next day got them a round of Starbucks.
DeleteSo sweet that your girlfriends bought you the cupcake and the nail polish you wanted!! And that burger looks delicious!!! Thanks for the follow back on my blog site--I signed up on your GFC the other day. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! I work with really great people. Xox
DeleteGreat post! Esp love your new Tory Burch! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Il have to do a review soon. I am already starting to stuff it silly though.
DeleteI found someone else that doesn't like icing/frosting! I don't like the taste of it very much. In any case, your colleagues are very sweet and I'm thinking of getting the Robinson tote when my current work bag dies. Thanks for the brief review!

Will definitely post a review soon. It is a really practical work bag and I'm really pleased with it!
DeleteI find icing good but only in very small doses. Usually I find it too sweet
