peplum and the blues

in a galaxy far far away, there used to be a girl called P who wore solids in gray, white, black and navy on heavy rotation. black and gray were exceptional favourites. this girl also hoarded black shoes. she then met another girl who became one of her best friends. this bff showed her the ways of the jedi and introduced her to colour and print (actually P taught her about what a jedi was and all things geeky.. but i digress..)

i have to say, looking at pictures of me about 5 years ago compared to now, it's astonishing what kind of evolution my closet has had. colours, ruffles, lace, prints galore. and sparkles. my goodness, if there are sparkles, sign me up. while i still love my neutrals and solids, i'm grateful that i have tried new things. we've gone through a lot together with our work, relationships, family, health, and i'm lucky she's a part of my life.

if i'm being a bit sentimental, i sometimes think we forget to thank those who are closest to us. i am blessed to have many wonderful friends and especially I and K who are always with me each day and put up with me in every way.

  3. You look so beautiful in this outfit!! I absolutely love the peplum and the colors work wonderfully together! You sound so much like me- up until about a year ago 75% of my closet was black, grey & white (let's be honest, it was mostly black). When I started blogging, I realized that I really needed to add more color because I knew people were not going to look at someone wearing all black! haha. Now it's about 50% black. Hey, I can't let go of things. But, I realized that I really love color! And you look amazing in it!!!

  9. Phiphi, are those Zara heels comfy? I have a couple of Zara shoes (flats & wedge) and they just kill me feet after a few hours. But those colorblock heels are so cute!

    1. hi A.N.! these shoes are okay from a comfort perspective. i sit at a desk all day at work, so i don't walk a lot. the pitch is a bit steep, but not like i'm on my tip toes. they would not be good if you're walking around a lot - it'd be something you could wear at a standing only cocktail/event for a few hours (but that's how i feel about heels generally too.. few other than the CL simples or the valentino kitten heels would last longer than a few hours) hope this helps! xox P

  10. Love those Zara shoes but when I tried them in the store last week, I couldn't walk! Felt like I was going to loose them! Must be me coz I see many bloggers wearing them. You look great and love how you co-ordinate the colors :)
